Description
The Pira is one of the popular machete in Jolo-Sulu in Mindanao, aside from the barong. This uncommonly shaped design of a bolo is commonly known as a “be-heading ” machete in the region during ancient times and a combative blade for chopping and slashing.
Because of its front heavy blade , it can easily and effectively cut a target without exerting much of effort. Now a days , the blade is coming up popular not only in Mindanao but spreading out all over different regions in the Philippines as a working machete for butchering and a utility machete for fire woods and others for its purposes.
