Description
The Janap’s blade length and design is suited for close quarter fighting. The blade handle is handcarved on hard wood, finished with chiseled metal ferrule designed to fit the hand exactly for a secure grip. Its distinct shape is similar to “Kam-pit” of the Tagalog region, “Yu-ro” of Pangasinan province, and the “Sip-ol” of the Visayas region. Its common name in the Philippine archipelago is “Ku’t-selyo”.
It comes with a handcarved scabbard with retaining clip and accented with securely wrapped rattan skin lashings.
