Description
The Alpanghe is an old terminology of the * pandays or blacksmiths in Pangasinan, which describes a bolo with a belly near the tip and the top curves slightly near the piercing edge. In martial arts practice, the Alpanghe is effectively used for slashing and piercing in ‘largo mano’ range. As for farm implement–it is a machete that can be used as a multi-tasking bladed tool (e.g. clearing of bushes, land pile trimmings for rice planting preparations, etc.)
* blacksmiths in Pangasinan use forging techniques are way different from other pandays or blacksmiths in Philippines because of mass production methodology in drop forging process. They are hired in regions as subcontractors.
